Athletistic/OI-2024. Two-time Olympic boxing champion Oleg Saitov said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the Paris Olympics had lost traditional values and Olympic ideals.

The 2024 Olympic Games were held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed 15 Russian athletes to compete, rejecting many qualified champions and medalists. The Russian participants competed in neutral status, without a flag or anthem, and their medals were not counted in the overall standings.

“I don’t think about the last Olympics at all, because a lot was done to exclude our athletes. I know that Albert Batyrgaziev was invited, but in the 57 kg category, although he has been competing in the 60 kg category for a long time. “This applied to all sports – people were limited,” Saitov said at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“The opening of the Olympic Games has become a disgrace! It was said that there were no more traditional values, Olympic ideals. A transgender person carries the Olympic flame – what has he done for sport? An operation he has performed. For me, the Olympic Games are no longer a symbol of purity and unacceptable athletic grace,” he added.

  • Cyclist Voinova: “I thought I had accepted the situation of missing the Olympics. But it only works in theory.”
