President of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Russia (FSPR) Vyacheslav Aminov registered on the list of candidates for the post of vice-president of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM), reports the press service of the organization.
The elections will take place at the UIPM Congress in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 16-17. A total of 12 people are running for five vacant vice-president positions in the organization. Aminov, 65, has held the position since 2011.
The UIPM president will also be elected in Riyadh. Frenchman Joël Bouzou, Egyptian Sharif El-Erian and American Robert Stull will be candidates for the post of head of the organization. The current president of the organization, Klaus Schormann, will leave his post at the end of 2024.
In early July, an independent UIPM commission determined the criteria for admitting Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions under the auspices of the organization with a neutral status.
