Ukraine wins 20th gold medal in Paris
Ukrainian Alexander Nazarenko won gold in judo in category up to 90 kilograms in class J2 on Paralympics 2024.
Nazarenko met Elios Lachumanaya from France in the final. The Ukrainian performed a waza-ari at the beginning of the fight, earning a point. Then Alexander received two warnings, but brought the fight to victory.
Nazarenko won his third medal at the Paralympics, and his first gold. Earlier, the Ukrainian won silver at the Rio Games and bronze in Tokyo.
Ukraine won 20 gold medals at the 2024 Paralympics. In total, the blue-yellows collected 74 awards.
The 2024 Paralympics are taking place in Paris from August 28 to September 8. The Ukrainian team is represented at the Games by 140 athletes. Ukrainians are competing in 17 of the 22 Paralympic sports – a record in the history of our country.
