“It was definitely worth going to the Paralympics to fight and prove that we can do anything” – track and field athlete Solovyova

Russian track and field athlete Anastasia Solovieva On , she summed up her performance at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris and noted that, despite the uncertainty surrounding the Russians’ admission, it was worth going to the competition.

Solovieva at the Paris Games took 7th place in the 200m and 6th place in the 400m.

“This time it didn’t work out.” Things don’t always go the way we want them to. That should probably be an even bigger incentive to work harder with even more dedication. Today it’s still like that. My main distance is 400m, but during the winter season I trained over 200m, so that was a controversial issue. The preparation was a bit sloppy because at first we didn’t seem to be going, then we were going. That also left its mark.

— The main question we ask all Paralympians is: Several difficult years, whether we go or not. Was it worth it?

“It was worth it one hundred percent, because it is an indescribable feeling and emotion. A full stadium is a completely different dimension. It was definitely worth fighting and proving that we can do anything,” Solovyova told .

The Paralympic Games in the French capital will end on September 8.
