Dovbyk may miss match with Genoa in Serie A round 4 due to injury

Roma to play away match against Genoa on September 15

Attack Roma Artem Dovbik due to injury may miss the match with Genoa within the 4th round Serie A.

Dovbyk returned to Roma from the Ukrainian national team camp due to a sprained adductor muscle, which is why the forward will miss both September matches of the Nations League.

Should Dovbyk still be unable to play against Genoa, Daniele de Rossi’s coaching staff intend to use Paulo Dybala as a ‘false nine’, supported on the flanks by Mathias Sule and Alexis Saelemaekers.

Let us recall that Artem Dovbyk has been nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. Playing for Girona last season, Artem became the top scorer in Primera with 24 goals, and also made 10 assists. Girona sensationally finished in the top 3 and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in history, and the Ukrainian forward was recognized as the best player of the Catalan team this season.

Dovbyk officially transferred to Roma in early August. Artem became the first Ukrainian in the history of the Wolves. According to previously published information, the transfer cost the Romans 32-33 million euros and 5-6 million in bonus payments. Girona will also receive a certain percentage from the resale of the Ukrainian.

In the 2024/25 season that has just started, Dovbyk has played in all three of Roma’s Serie A matches, failing to score.

Roma’s away match against Ruslan Malinovskyi’s Genoa will take place next Sunday, September 15.
