Lunin intends to continue his career in the Premier League – source

The Ukrainian did not sign a new contract with Blancos this summer

Ukrainian goalkeeper Real Andrey Lunin does not intend to renew his contract with Blancos next summer.

Andrey plans to leave Madrid at the end of the current season. The Ukrainian’s priority is the EPL, so Lunin intends to consider cooperation offers from Premier League clubs first and foremost.

After Lunin’s successful performance last season, the media reported on offers to Andrey from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG (the Parisians were allegedly ready to pay 18 million euros for the goalkeeper). Chelsea were considering paying 12 million euros for Lunin and bringing Kepa Arrizabalaga back to the Madrid club.

Representatives of Atletico, Betis, Juventus, Aston Villa, Arsenal and Newcastle also contacted Real. The latter two were reportedly ready to pay 25 million euros for the Ukrainian. Manchester City also considered the Ukrainian as an alternative to Ederson.

Lunin has been on the bench in all matches at the start of this season, with Thibaut Courtois consistently taking his place in the starting lineup. At the same time, Lunin was nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or Best Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Real is in second place in La Liga after four rounds. On September 14, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will play against Real Sociedad.
