Athletistic / Figure skating. Tatiana Tarasova, honored figure skating coach of the USSR, criticized the choice of the date of burial of the ashes of former figure skaters Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov. Their ashes were buried in St. Petersburg on September 11.

Tarasova herself was unable to attend the ceremony, as it fell on the dates when the ice rinks in Novogorsk were closed.

“I am at least surprised by the date of the farewell ceremony of Belousova and Protopopov. I don’t know why we are talking about it. It was necessary to connect the burial ceremony to the date when most of the characters were buried. The skating world will be able to attend.

Tarasova said whether she would attend the closed skating of the Russian national team

“We rode with them all our lives. This does not mean that we were friends, but we communicated very closely. I wanted to attend the ceremony,” Tarasova said according to RBC.
