Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Olympic ice dance champion Tatyana Navka has shared her opinion on the Lithuanian government’s decision to deprive figure skaters Margarita Drobyazko and Povilas Vanagas of state awards.
“I am very disappointed and I am ashamed of these people who do this. I do not understand why they are doing this – for the fact that they came to Russia, to skate in front of children, spectators who came to get paid d “emotions? People from all over the world come to us, our country is not closed, there are a lot of foreign tourists, everyone comes and has fun”, Noted Navka in conversation with “RIA Novosti Sport”adding that he will always support the skaters.
Margarita Drobyazko and Povilas Vanagas were stripped of the Order of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas for participating in Tatyana Navka’s “Swan Lake” ice show. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda also announced the need to review the conditions under which Drobiazko obtained Lithuanian citizenship a few years ago in order to represent the country at the Olympics.
Povilas Vanagas and Margarita Drobiazko are 13 times Lithuanian champions and double European champions. Vanagas and Drobyazko have been married since 2000.
