Funeral of legendary coach Sven-Goran Eriksson held in Sweden

Eriksson died on August 26 at the age of 76.

IN Sweden The funeral of the legendary coach took place Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The funeral was attended by around 600 people, including former England captain David Beckham, who previously played under Eriksson. Also present at the funeral was former England manager Roy Hodgson and members of the Swedish royal family.

The ceremony was held in Swedish and English, and hundreds of mourners also gathered on the lawn outside the church to watch it on a big screen.

The Swedish specialist died on August 26 at the age of 76. In January, Eriksson admitted that he had been diagnosed with terminal (incurable) cancer.

Eriksson is known for his work with the England national team (2001-2006), Manchester City, Sampdoria and Lazio. During his career, he also managed, among others, Benfica, Leicester and the Mexico national team.

He won the UEFA Cup with Gothenburg, reached the final of the European Championship with Benfica, became the winner of Serie A with Lazio, and reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup twice with England.

In March, Eriksson took part in the legends match between Liverpool and Ajax, where he took charge of the English club. The meeting at Anfield ended with a 4-2 victory for Liverpool.
