Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Lithuanian figure skaters Margarita Drobyazko and Povilas Vanagas were deprived of state awards by decree of Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda due to their participation in Tatiana Navka’s Swan Lake show in Sochi.
“They barred their services to the Lithuanian state with the cynical act of participating in a business event in Sochi,” Nausėda was quoted as saying by ‘Championate’ in reference to TASS.
Thus, Drobyazko and Vanagas are no longer holders of the Order of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas. The Lithuanian President added that legislative acts should also be reviewed to discuss the issue of depriving Drobiazko of Lithuanian citizenship, which she received on an exceptional basis, in order to be able to represent Lithuania at the Olympics.
