Two-time Olympic track and field champion Otis Davis has died

Otis Davis, winner of two gold medals at the 1960 Olympic Games in athletics, has died at the age of 93, the World Athletics press service reported.

The American won gold in the 400 meters and the 4×400 meter relay at the Rome Olympics. Davis set a world record in the 400 meters in the Olympic final (44.9 seconds).

Davis was a member of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Torch Relay and is one of the University of Oregon icons on the facade of Hayward Field in Eugene.
