“I thought it would be unusual if we took something home. When I see this program, I always smile” – choreographer on the rhythmic dance of Shcherbakova and Goncharov

Choreographer Sergei Plishkin spoke to about staging programs for a dance duet Anna Shcherbakova And Egor Goncharov for the 2024/25 season.

The national team’s skating tests took place on September 14-15 in St. Petersburg. Shcherbakova and Goncharov performed a rhythm dance to the song “Pesnyarov” “Mowed Yas Konyushina” and a free dance to “The Ghost of Aleppoville” and “God Save the Jungle” by Benjamin Clementine.

— For rhythmic dancing, there are requirements of the International Skating Union – clear rules of style and rhythms to which we must dance. I thought it would be cool and interesting, unusual and exciting, if we take something domestic. Since I am Belarusian, all this remains superficial. I thought that if we take the hit of “Pesnyary” – “Mowed Yas Konyushina”, it would be very memorable. It remained only to convince the technical staff and the guys themselves. I hope everyone enjoyed it. When I see the rental of this program, I always smile.

The free program is called “Ball of Vices.” I try to present the programs honestly: what I myself have felt or experienced. At one point in my life, I thought that all vices – biblical or what we notice – are our thoughts. First thoughts, then actions. With small choreographies and repetitions, I tried to show the audience how a thought infiltrates the brain, and then all the vices one can imagine are born.

The work was carried out in a friendly atmosphere. I care a lot about the guys. There were mistakes and shortcomings, but this is the beginning of the season. We will work, ”Plishkin told .

Shcherbakova and Goncharov are the winners of the 2023 Russian Championship and the 2024 Fed Cup Final.
