Florian Wirtz scored twice
Bayer won confidently Feyenoord in the away match of the first round Champions League 2024/25 — 4:0.
Already in the 5th minute, Florian Wirtz put the Pharmaceuticals ahead. Feyenoord quickly equalized, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.
Alejandro Grimaldo extended the visitors’ lead midway through the first half, and Wirtz completed the rout six minutes later. Before the break, Feyenoord scored a fourth goal – an own goal by goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther.
The score remained unchanged in the second half. Note that another goal by the Dutch team was disallowed due to offside.
In the next round of the Champions League, Bayer will host Milan on October 1. Feyenoord will play away to Viktor Tsygankov’s Girona on October 2.
