Al Nasr left Steven Gerrard’s team no chance
In the 4th round of the championship Saudi Arabia Al-Nasr won away from home Al-Ittifaq (3:0), led by Steven Gerrard.
The score was opened in the 33rd minute of the game – Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty. After the break, the visitors’ advantage was strengthened by Salem Al-Naidi and Anderson Talisca – in both cases, Sadio Mane was the assisted player.
This was Stefano Pioli’s debut match at the helm of Al-Nasr. Let us recall that the Italian specialist replaced the former Shakhtar coach Luis Castro, under whose leadership Al-Nasr had a poor start to the season (a rout in the Super Cup final from Al-Hilal and only one win in three championship matches).
Al-Nasr will play their next match in the King’s Cup (the country’s equivalent of the national cup) – on September 23, Pioli’s men will play away against Al-Hazm. Al-Ittifaq will play Al-Adalh on the same day.
