– I promise you, Mr. Bach, that I will train with tripled energy so that it will be you, and no one else, who will award me a medal at the next Games! I don’t know about you, but it will give me special pleasure to see your face at the same time, – Stepanova wrote on her Telegram channel .
In February, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee recommended that international federations prevent Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions due to events in Ukraine.
