Yarmolenko: We lost points, but it had to happen anyway, because it’s hard to go through the whole season without losses

Dynamo failed to score against Rukh in home match

Winger Dynamo Andrey Yarmolenko commented on his team’s draw in the match against Rukh (0:0) in the 7th round UPL.

“I think the game was interesting for the fans, both teams created a lot of chances. We must give credit to the Rukh team, its players. Of course, if we had used our chances in the first half, it would have been easier for us in the second. But that’s football: sometimes you score out of nothing, and sometimes you don’t convert 100% chances. What was missing? Not enough goals.”

“Was Rukh too aggressive and harsh? In my opinion, everything was within the norm. There was a pure male struggle, the referee allowed the game to be played in many episodes. I think this is better than when the whistle blows for every fall. In short, I did not see anything particularly rough today. Yes, we failed to win, yes, we lost points, but it had to happen anyway, because it is difficult to go through the entire season without losses.”

“Can we say that today was a rehearsal before the match with Lazio in the Europa League? No, there was no rehearsal. We will prepare for the European Cups only after this game. The schedule is very busy, there is no such thing that we consider one game more important than another, because for every victory they give three points. Therefore, we need to give everything on the field every time and win. Unfortunately, we were not able to do this today.”

Dynamo lost points for the first time in the current UPL competition. Oleksandr Shovkovskiy’s team leads the UPL, ahead of Oleksandriya on additional indicators.

On September 25, Dynamo will play Lazio in the first round of the Europa League. Shovkovskiy’s charges will play their next match in the UPL on September 29 against Left Bank.
