The Frenchman had a poor start to the season in Italy
French central defender Raphael Varane is considering retiring from professional football.
The player plans to terminate his agreement with his current club Comoand then announce the end of his career.
The experienced Frenchman only joined the club as a free agent this summer, but he injured his knee in the Coppa Italia match against Sampdoria, leaving him out for a long time.
It is known that Como has already excluded Varane from the Serie A squad and also planned to end his cooperation with the player. Recall that Rafa signed a contract until the summer of 2026 with the possibility of extending it for another season.
Varane spent three seasons with Manchester United, winning the League Cup in the 2022/23 season. Before that, the Frenchman played for Real: as part of the Royal Club, he played 359 matches, scored 17 goals and won 18 titles.
Varane played in 93 matches for the national team, scoring five goals and winning the 2018 World Cup.
Como is in 15th place in the Serie A standings.
