The Polish goalkeeper planned to retire, but agreed to replace the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen
Barcelona close to signing ex-Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny as a free agent.
The club agreed on the terms of a one-year contract with the goalkeeper. The Pole will undergo a medical examination in the coming days, after which the deal will be officially announced.
Let us recall that Szczesny announced his retirement from sports in August. The Polish goalkeeper said goodbye to Juventus before the match with Napoli in September.
Szczesny will replace the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Recall that the German suffered a tendon injury in his right knee. Marc-Andre underwent surgery, and it is expected that the goalkeeper will miss seven to eight months.
Barcelona are top of La Liga with six wins out of six. Hans-Dieter Flick’s side will host Getafe in their next encounter. The match will take place on September 25 and will kick off at 22:00.
