The Executive Committee of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) decided to organize a single All-Russian Figure Skating Day.
All-Russian Figure Skating Day will be celebrated on January 8. The date was chosen to mark the birthday of the first Russian Olympic figure skating champion, Nikolai Panin-Kolomenkin.
The decision to establish Figure Skating Day was made in order to popularize this sport and attract people to regular physical education classes.
