Last week, Kostornaya, 21, told she had a cold, then said her recovery process would be long.
“As you know, I suffered from a serious illness; full recovery requires much more time and effort than we might have expected. As a result, we are forced to miss a significant number of competitions.
But there is also good news. I am in rehabilitation and restoring my health under the supervision of doctors who have cleared me for certain loads and time on the ice.
Thank you for your support and trust in Gosha and me. We are looking forward to the time when we can meet you at competitions and show our programs in full force. In the meantime, I will regain my health, you can still enjoy our skating in the show, – Kostornaya wrote on the Telegram channel .
Last season, Kostornaya and Kunitsa took ninth place at the Russian Pair Skating Championships. Alena is the 2020 European singles skating champion; she has competed as a pair since 2023.
