Blocker of the Novosibirsk region volleyball team Ilyas Kurkaev said there are many areas for improvement in the team’s play at the All-Russian Spartakiad of Summer Sports among the strongest athletes in 2022.
On Friday, the Novosibirsk region team defeated the KhMAO-Yugra team in the second round of the Spartakiad group stage – 3-1 (25:22, 25:19, 17:25, 25:17).
– Impressions from the stands are the best, we miss this atmosphere. There are still a lot of things in the game that need to be improved. In the third episode, it didn’t matter who played – young or old, it was not a question of skills, but of character. We didn’t support them, there was no trust, it’s impossible. I hope tomorrow’s match will be a fixed match for us before we move to Moscow,” the All-Russian Volleyball Federation press service quoted Kurkaev as saying.
The team’s head coach Plamen Konstantinov spoke about the participation of young players in the tournament.
– They gave almost everyone the opportunity to play, they included young people, they changed positions for some, but not everything went smoothly. I am satisfied with the result, they took three points, endured until the end, so as not to send more experienced players to the site, – said Konstantinov.
