The Ukrainian was injured in the first half of the match with Feyenoord
Head coach Girona Michel said that the Ukrainian winger Victor Tsygankov received injury hamstring in a match with Feyenoord (2:3) in the second round Champions League 2024/25.
“It looks bad. There is no complete information yet. This is a hamstring injury, it all depends on the centimeters. Victor is as important a player as Blind and Romeu, but we have a squad,” the coach said.
Viktor was injured in the first half of the match with Feyenoord; while fighting for the ball, the Ukrainian made a jerk and injured his leg. He was replaced on the field by Arnaud Danjuma.
Let us remind you that Victor was included in the application of the Ukrainian national team for the October matches of the League of Nations. Let us note that on Wednesday another experienced blue-and-yellow player, Taras Stepanenko, did not finish Shakhtar’s match with Atalanta.
Girona lost to Feyenoord in their second match in the Champions League. The Catalans conceded two own goals, and the teams also took turns missing penalties.
Michel’s team is at the bottom of the overall Champions League table without points. Girona’s next match will be at home against Athletic on October 6.
