Figure skater Anna Frolova after a short program at the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial in St. Petersburg, she said she had made several mistakes and the performance can be rated 8 points out of 10.
Frolova leads after the short program, receiving 73.26 points for the skate.
—To be honest, I wasn’t worried at all. I’m very happy to see the public in the stands, because for four months we trained in an empty arena. There was no excitement as such. I just wanted to do everything clearly and efficiently, to see what spots and mistakes the judges could find in me.
I rate the ride 8 out of 10. There were some mistakes, I want to ride even more emotionally. But there is still time, we will fix everything. I didn’t fall off the path, that’s good!
— What comments did you get after the skating tests in St. Petersburg?
“We have some of the most qualified judges in the country.” We have tried to work on all the comments. Unfortunately, I didn’t do everything perfectly, but performances like that are a huge boost, because you know where they can catch you, where they can pull you out if you make a mistake.
It’s very cool to have attended such an event, now I know what to work on.
— Can we say that this short program is a new experience in terms of revealing the image?
– Of course, it’s a new experience. This season’s program will be different from those I have skated before, as we begin to transfer some of the emotions from life onto the ice. It is simply a life experience that translates into programs, images, etc. For me, this program is associated with deep loneliness, which plunges you into pain and discouragement. The only one who can get me out of this state is myself.
—Are you trying ultra-si elements?
“I won’t say it,” reports the correspondent, according to Frolova’s words.
The skaters will present their free programs on Saturday.
