Lupashko: We created many chances to win

Carpathians have 10 points

Mentor Karpat Vladislav Lupashko commented on the outcome of the game with Ingulets (0:0) in the ninth round of the UPL. The coach spoke separately about Igor Neves’s missed penalty at the end of the meeting.

“This number of chances is always enough to win. I liked the fact that we had scoring chances from the beginning of the match to the end. The result depended on the final actions. Unfortunately, they didn’t work out. Although we scored two goals from offside, missed a penalty, and created many chances to win. The quality of the game was at a fairly high level.”

“Neves’s missed penalty? Football players must deal with these issues on the football field in terms of what they practice in training. When a player has taken the ball to take a penalty, he must not be kicked [с мысли]. If he decides to shoot, then he must do it. Moments like these are very important, so we must always support each other. Igor didn’t score, but we shouldn’t blame him because we didn’t win this match.”

“Ingulets has changed a lot, especially the way it plays. There are very interesting players there, their decisions are non-standard for the UPL in the context of playing on the ball. In general, the team plays completely different football compared to what we played in the First League when I was a coach.”

The Lviv team has ten points to their name – they occupy 10th place in the standings. Karpaty will hold their next match on October 21 – the Lviv derby against Rukh awaits Lupashko’s team.
