MLS and Saudi Arabian clubs have requested information on Pogba

The Frenchman is not in Juventus’ plans

French midfielder Paul Pogba will not continue his performances in Juventus.

Pogba is not included in the Turin club’s plans: the player’s agents have already begun work on a possible transfer. MLS and Saudi Arabia clubs have requested information about the midfielder.

Last September, the National Anti-Doping Tribunal reported that testosterone metabolites of non-endogenous origin were found in Pogba’s sample. It was reported that the midfielder took the banned substance on the advice of his doctor friend, who purchased the drug in the United States. In October, it became known that the French midfielder’s repeat doping test also showed a positive result for testosterone.

The Frenchman’s lawyers did not agree to a plea deal; the midfielder did not admit guilt. Instead, the footballer insisted on unintentionally consuming a banned substance that had been prescribed to him by a doctor friend.

In September 2023, the Turin club announced the temporary suspension of the midfielder. In February 2024, Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal officially handed the Frenchman a maximum ban of four years, but Paul Pogba exercised his legal right to appeal against the decision.

The Frenchman’s appeal was successful. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has reduced the player’s ban from four years to 18 months. Thus, starting in January 2025, Pogba can return to training with Juventus, and starting in March, he can take to the field in official matches.

Paul Pogba returned to Juventus from Manchester United in the summer of 2022. The Frenchman last appeared on the field on September 3, 2023 against Empoli (2:0).

Pogba’s contract with Juventus runs until June 2026.

Juventus is currently in second place in the Serie A standings. The Old Lady will play their next match on October 6 at home against Cagliari.
