Figure skater Kshetskaya talks about working with Tataurov: “I started skating more openly, I look more at the audience and judges”

Figure skater Arina Kchetskaya said that under the leadership of coach Oleg Tataurov, she became more open on the ice to spectators and judges.

On Saturday, Kshetskaya scored 175.23 points in the free skate at the Panin-Kolomenkin Memorial in St. Petersburg. In April, Tataurov told that Kshetskaya had joined his group.

— Did you have time to discuss the errors with Oleg Tataurov?

— When I went overboard, he asked me why I fell. And then we sat and waited for the judges’ evaluation.

— What changed after joining Tataurov’s group?

— At the beginning, I started to skate more openly, I don’t have my eyes glued to the ground, that is, I look more at the audience, at the judges. The second score was much better. I can’t say anything about the jump, because I don’t feel it, I have to look from the outside.

— After your transition to Oleg Tataurov, you felt like you became more confident. Do you feel it too?

– Yes, I was practically not worried at all, neither yesterday nor today. If I had been worried, I would have done worse.

—How is this possible? Does the coach know how to set it up?

– I don’t know, I just look at Oleg Stanislavovich, from the outside he is always very calm, he knows that everything will be fine – and that makes me feel good.

— Do you have any competition in training?

– I don’t think so. We all support each other. I’m not trying to outdo anyone, because I have to do my job.

And with the boys…I can just watch Vlad [Дикиджи]he will motivate me or tell me something. Vlad gives me a lot of confidence.

“You are a hundredth of a point ahead of Chaplygina.” Has this ever happened to you?

— There was a time when I had 99 points, and the girl had 99 points and a hundredth. It was a shame then. I still remember that day.

—Where do you plan to play?

— I was nominated for the first stage of the Magnitogorsk Grand Prix.

— What are your goals for this season?

— It is not necessary to set overall goals – to take a place, to do better than someone else – because then this greatly affects the box office. You just need to work in training, show what you have already developed, ”reports the correspondent of , according to Kshetskaya’s words.

Last season, Kshetskaya took 16th place at the Russian Championship.
