Figure skater Anna Frolova said its free program, to the tune of the musical “Cats,” consists of two parts, with the louder music coming at the end of the performance.
On Saturday, 19-year-old Fursova scored 198.59 points at the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial in St. Petersburg.
—Are you happy with yourself today?
— Renting isn’t great. I’m happy with the jumping part. I can say that I skate better in training.
I didn’t like the spiral tracks today, because the music is very loud and under no circumstances should you give up at that point. It’s difficult at the moment, because I’ve never had such strong music, such a strong role at the end. But my coaches and I believe that you must always progress, whatever your age. Therefore, we decided to take such a bold part to the end. I think it’s definitely possible to skate this without it looking hard.
— What is the idea of the free program?
– The idea is that I am a cat. This is from the musical “Cats”. In the first half of the program, I have to show my feline youth, demonstrate what kind of cat I am – flirtatious, bold in some ways. In the second half, time has already passed, life has passed so quickly and I am such an old cat. I won’t say that I’m old (laughs). A bit like retirement age. But this is just the image in the program – let’s not take it out of context! — The correspondent reports Frolova’s comments.
