Olympic diving champion Yulia Pakhalina and water polo Games winner Vladimir Akimov were inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF), reports the press service of the city of Fort Lauderdale.
The ceremony took place on Saturday October 5 in Florida.
Pakhalina won gold at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and also has three silver and one bronze medals at the Games. The Russian has won the World Championships three times and the European Championships eight times.
Akimov won gold at the 1980 Olympics as a member of the USSR national team.
