Figure skating coach Arthur Gachinsky in an interview with , he said he views coaching through the prism of his career and personal mistakes as a skater.
Gachinsky decided to retire in 2015, at the age of 22. He now works as a coach, among his students are Semyon Soloviev and Nikolai Loginov.
Gachinsky is a bronze medalist at the 2011 World Championships, a silver medalist at the 2012 European Championships and a two-time silver medalist at the Russian Championships.
— You became a coach very early, mainly because of injuries. Do you view the training process through the lens of your career and personal mistakes as a skateboarder?
— Of course, looking at my past moments, I analyze the journeys of my students. I may have started jumping very early, I had some back problems, and at 30 I had two major surgeries.
But in all cases we must study the ultra-si. We are nowhere without them. It is impossible to completely predict the training process for learning new material. We are preparing for quads, trying to avoid injuries, but we cannot predict everything,” Gachinsky told .
