Head coach Russian national team synchronized swimming Tatiana Pokrovskaya told that the team was not considering the issue of athletes participating in neutral status in international tournaments.
The All-Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) told on Wednesday that swimmers would begin enjoying neutral status ahead of December’s world championships in Budapest. This week, Andrey Minakov and Nika Godun were granted neutrality status. FSM President Vladimir Salnikov said that so far three athletes had applied for the status and two of them had been granted it.
— We do not consider the question of participation in a neutral status. I don’t know what will happen next. It all depends on how the sporting situation evolves. We would like to compete under the flag of Russia and with the status of Russian athletes,” Pokrovskaya told .
Russian synchronized swimmers have been suspended from all international competitions since 2022 and did not participate in the Paris Olympics.
