Amosov’s contract with Bellator expired in September of this year
Former champion Bellator welterweight Yaroslav Amosov (27-1) spoke about plans to go to UFC.
“We have a plan. We only want to sign a contract for one fight. After one fight we want to go to the UFC.”
“In 2023, maybe two years ago, we said, ‘Bellator, we have a plan. We don’t want to sign a new contract. After the end of the contract, I will become a free agent.” I think that’s probably why they extended my contract by one year. But yes, we have a plan to go to the UFC.”
Yaroslav Amosov’s contract with Bellator expired in September of this year.
Amosov lost his last fight to Jason Jackson as part of the Bellator 301 tournament and lost the championship title. In the third round, the Ukrainian received a heavy blow, which Jason took advantage of and began to finish off his opponent. The judge stopped the fight, awarding the victory to the Jamaican fighter.
Amosov suffered the first defeat in his professional career. The Ukrainian has held the Bellator championship title since 2021 and made one successful defense in a fight with Logan Storley.
