President of the Russian Diving Federation Stanislav Druzhinin told that Olympic champion Yulia Pakhalina has not contacted the organization about a possible return to Russia.
Previously, Pakhalina told that she would like to return to Russia and start coaching, but at the moment she does not have such an opportunity.
—Did Yulia inform you that she was going to return to Russia?
– No, she did not contact the federation on this subject. If so, we will be very happy to see her. If she decides to train, we will support her in this process. But so far there has been no conversation about this,” Druzhinin told .
Pakhalina lives and works in the United States. She was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in October.
Pakhalina is 47 years old, she won gold at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and also has three silver and one bronze medals at the Games. The Russian has won the World Championships three times and the European Championships eight times.
