Student Tutberidze Andreeva: “Shcherbakova, Trusova, Valieva are my idols”

Figure skater Elizaveta Andreeva, who took second place at the Moscow stage of the Russian Junior Grand Prix, said she admires Anna Shcherbakova, Alexandra Trusova and Kamila Valieva.

On Saturday, student Eteri Tutberidze Andreeva took second place at the Moscow stage, scoring 203.42 points in a total of two programs. The winner was Agata Petrova (206.28), the third was Varvara Liss (196.20).

— Do you feel a sense of satisfaction following these performances?

— Of course, I’m not entirely satisfied, because there was an unfortunate mistake in the short program, and I didn’t complete the second quadruple free. We will fix everything, we will work, improve it so that such errors do not occur.

— Did you hurry a little or were you worried?

“I was probably in more of a hurry.”

— What do you think of this “tennis” system, where tournaments take place every week?

— I don’t know, we just wanted to go to St. Petersburg and try. And recently we were told that I would be here on stage.

— This is your debut in the Grand Prix series. How do you feel?

“I probably imagined it like that.” Because there are a lot of spectators, which doesn’t happen often. It’s always very nice.

— How did the coaches prepare you for these competitions?

“Basically, they told me to skate calmly, I’m skating in practice, which means I have to imagine that I’m in practice, and it’s not the judges who are sitting in front of me, but the technical staff.”

— In your free program on the music of the film “James Bond”, what image do you imagine?

-James Bond Girl. I really like everything.

— Do you have any figure skating idols who inspire you?

— All older girls inspire me. Those who were at the Olympics: Anya Shcherbakova, Sasha Trusova, Kamila Valieva. They are all my idols.

— How many years have you been figure skating?

– Seven years. “I like everything,” reports the correspondent, according to Andreeva’s words.
