European champion Alena Kostornaya said she would continue figure skating despite her hip injury.
Earlier, Kostornaya told that she will undergo surgery on her injured hip at the end of August.
– It’s clear that the injuries have been piling up for many years and the new coach may have nothing to do with them, but the situation is damaging his reputation. When this happens again and again, you can make a decision not to take athletes from a certain specialist at all. This is the situation I feared. On the one hand, it happened anyway, but I’m not going to finish skating because of it, that’s for sure,” Kostornaya told RT.
Last season, 18-year-old Kostornaya trained with Eteri Tutberidze. During the offseason, she changed her group – now the skater is under the leadership of Elena Buyanova at CSKA.
