Russian Sports Minister Degtyarev supported the candidacy of Dmitry Mazepin for the post of head of the Russian Swimming Federation

Minister of Sports of Russia Mikhail Degtiarev supported the candidacy of Dmitry Mazepin for the post of head of the Russian Swimming Federation.

President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) Vladimir Salnikov announced his intention to create a united federation “”. The new united federation will include the FSM, the Russian Synchronized Swimming Federation, the RFPV and the Russian Water Polo Federation.

— We had a meeting with Dmitry Mazepin. He has long supported sports in Russia and heads the supervisory board of the All-Russian Swimming Federation of Russia. We discussed his appointment as president of the Russian Swimming Federation of the Perm Territory. I support this decision. The conference at which he will be elected is scheduled for October 31 in Moscow.

Swimming is still one of the three most popular sports in our country. More than 2 million Russian citizens participate. And our professional swimmers bring home dozens of medals during international competitions. They have won 58 awards at the BRICS Games. This is why the ministry is making special efforts to develop bathing infrastructure. We build swimming pools, sports complexes, train coaches, open new sections for children and, of course, we strive to entrust this discipline to the best professionals.

I wish Dmitry Arkadyevich success in his new career. I am confident that the United Russian Aquatic Federation, under his leadership, will achieve even greater success,” Degtyarev wrote on the Telegram channel.
