Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova believes that Russian coaches should study more the methods of his father Anatoly Tarasov, who managed the CSKA hockey club in Moscow.
— Did you understand the full extent of your father’s fame, were you proud of it?
– Of course, I am always proud. I don’t understand why this isn’t studied enough. My father was one of the few people who understood everything about hockey. If he was still here, we would never lose, because with him it was impossible. From morning to evening, my head and my heart were devoted to hockey.
I think I look like my father to a lot of people. Dedication to your sport, work, daily responsibility for each training,” Tarasova said in Roman Kostomarov’s “Heart to Heart” podcast on Rutube.
Under the leadership of Tarasov, CSKA Moscow became the champion of the USSR 18 times (in 1948-1950, 1955, 1956, 1958-1960, 1963-1966, 1968, 1970-1973), the national team won the Cup of the world nine times. (1963-1971) and three times – Olympic Games (1964, 1968, 1972).
