European figure skating champion Alena Kostornaya spoke about the nature of the injury, due to which she will be forced to undergo surgery.
Earlier, Kostornaya told that at the end of August she will undergo surgery related to a hip injury.
– There were a lot of them (damage). The main one to be operated on is a rupture of the articular lip and something else with complicated names that I no longer remember. According to the doctors who examined me, decisions will have to be made about the concomitant injuries during the operation. Maybe everything will turn out to be easier than it looks now, or maybe, on the contrary, it will be more difficult. The only thing I really don’t want is to end up in the hospital on August 24, my birthday. Therefore, if so far the operation fails, I will ask you to operate on me on the 25th,” RT Kostornaya quotes.
Last season, 18-year-old Kostornaya trained with Eteri Tutberidze. During the offseason, she changed her group – now the skater is under the leadership of Elena Buyanova.
