High jumper Lyssenko: ‘I haven’t tried to contact the VFLA, I’m talking with the coach about all the issues’

Russian high jumper Danil Lyssenko who served a four-year suspension, told that he personally did not contact the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF).

Previously, Lysenko won first place in the Cup of the Sverdlovsk region, the 25-year-old athlete showed a result of 2.31 m. Lysenko had been disqualified in the summer of 2018 for missing three doping tests. His suspension expired in early August.

– Do you have any contact with the VFLA?

– Personally, I have not contacted the federation. I didn’t even try. I have a coach with whom I can discuss any problems. Now I work with Sergey Petrovich Klyugin and with Victoria Yuryevna Klyugina. Since I live in Moscow, I work with them. Nikolai Mikhailovich Kovalsky also remains my coach, after all, he has been with me since childhood. I like him as a person, we communicate well with him,” Lysenko told .

Lyssenko is the 2017 World Championships silver medalist, the 2018 World Indoor Champion.
