Austin failed to make the playoffs, finishing 10th in the Western Conference.
The match of the final round of the regular season took place MLS — Austin snatched victory over Colorado (3:2).
Ukrainian defender Alexander Svatok appeared in Austin’s starting lineup, playing all 90 minutes.
His team lost 1:2, but managed to score twice in stoppage time in the second half.
This victory no longer had any tournament significance for Austin – he lost all chances of clinging to the 8th-9th place, which would give him the right to play in the play-in and compete for subsequent access to the playoffs. The Svatka team finished in 10th place in the Western Conference standings.
Thus, the clubs of two Ukrainian defenders will be represented in the MLS playoffs – Inter Miami of Sergei Krivtsov and Columbus Crew of Evgeniy Cheberko.
