Iga Šwiatek stopped collaborating with Tomasz Wiktorowski at the beginning of October
Belgian coach Wim Wisset commented on the beginning of his cooperation with the first racket of the world Igoy Šwiętek.
“We want Iga to start winning Grand Slam titles, not only on clay, but also on other surfaces. The clay court season has its own characteristics – many matches and tournaments are held in a short period of time, so you need to get into a rhythm, gain confidence, and after Paris move on to other surfaces. Then there will be an opportunity to work on my game on other surfaces and try to succeed there.”
“All the top players are full of desire to play big matches, which is their main motivation. Usually they don’t have a problem with it – it makes them happy. How do I work? I have information, video. I prepare my players, we discuss strengths and weaknesses, prepare tactically and draw conclusions. In the case of rivals like Arina Sabalenka or Elena Rybakina, you need to do an analysis and look for a way to beat them.”
During his career, the Belgian collaborated with Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber, Naomi Osaka and others. For the rest of this season, Szwiatek will work with Poland’s Billie Jean King Cup captain David Zelt.
Let us remind you that the representative of Poland stopped working with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski in early October. While working with Wiktorowski, Iga won 19 singles trophies. Among them are four Grand Slam tournaments and the WTA Finals 2023.
Schwiatek qualified ahead of schedule for the 2024 Final Tournament, which will be held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, from November 2 to 9.
