Multiple champion skier and Olympic medalist Alexander Bolshunov won the Order of Alexander Nevsky thanks to his victories, host and commentator Dmitry Guberniev said.
Bolshunov received the order on Friday at the state awards ceremony for athletes and coaches, held in Luzhniki.
– As the holder of the Order of Alexander Nevsky, I welcome in every possible way the fact that the president noted Bolshunov. Alexander undoubtedly deserved it, a worthy reward. Congratulations Sasha! Sasha was not in the Kremlin when Putin presented the award, and now the award found the hero a little later. I wish Sasha not to stop there and go further without injury, Guberniev told a correspondent.
The 25-year-old skier at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing won three gold medals, as well as silver and bronze.
