The Japanese undisputed champion will enter the ring at the end of December in his home town.
The absolute champion of the second bantamweight, Japanese Naoya Inoue (28-0, 25 KOs), will fight in his next fight against the IBF mandatory challenger, Australian Sam Goodman (19-0, 8 KOs).
Earlier, the International Boxing Federation ordered the Japanese boxer to defend against an Australian opponent, then the head of the Top Rank promotion company, Bob Arum, confirmed the organization of the fight.
The Inoue-Goodman fight will take place on December 24 in Tokyo, Japan.
“Someone in the IBF realized and sent a letter that between the camps of Inoue and Goodman it went well and we are almost ready to complete them in Japan, in Tokyo,” he was quoted as saying Aruma BigFightWeekend.
Note that for Inoue this will be the third defense of the title of absolute champion. In the previous fight, the Japanese defeated the Irish TJ Doheny in September 2024 by technical knockout in the seventh round.
Goodman last entered the ring in July 2024 and defeated Thailand’s Thaktan Luangphon by unanimous decision.
