Crolla: Fury has a great chance to correct his mistakes in a rematch, but Usik is incredibly adaptable

The rematch between Oleksandr Usik and Tyson Fury will take place on December 21 in Saudi Arabia

Former world champion Anthony Crolla commented on the upcoming rematch between the holder of the WBC, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts Alexander Usik (22-0, 14 KOs) and former WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

“Fury looks very good, speaks very well and seems very confident. You never know what to expect from Tyson. He goes out and does some crazy things, but it really feels like Fury is in a great position.”

“I’m looking forward to the fight. This will be another tough fight, but Fury was winning halfway through the previous fight. I think that this time he will aim a little more at Usik’s body. He has an excellent chance to correct his mistakes, but Usyk finds a way to win, he is incredibly adaptable. After the first fight, I would call Usik the favorite, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyson avenges his defeat.”

Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight. Oleksandr Usyk will prepare for the rematch in a training camp in Valencia. Tyson Fury said he will begin training six to seven weeks before the fight.
