In the fight of the third round of the main round Champions League Monaco won confidently at his stadium Red Star with a score of 5:1.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 20th minute of the game – Takumi Minamino scored, but a few minutes later the guests came back thanks to Sherif Ndiaye, who converted a penalty. And just before the break, Monaco again took the lead through the efforts of Brel Embolo.
In the second half of the meeting, the Monegasques managed to complete the defeat. First, Wilfried Singo scored his goal, and then Minamino scored a double. Magnes Akliusz set the final score in stoppage time.
Monaco has seven points from three matches and is in the top eight of the Champions League standings. Red Star lost all three opening matches.
In the next round of the Champions League, Monaco will play away against Bologna, and Red Star will play against Barcelona.
