The head of the Scuderia does not want his team to be distracted by strange thoughts.

Ferrari’s winning double at the US Grand Prix only fueled the intrigue in the battle for the Constructors’ Championship.

And although the Scuderia has noticeably approached their rivals, the head of the Italian team, Frederic Vasseur, has pointed out that they cannot be distracted from these talks.

“We are not thinking about the championship and I want to maintain this mood in the team, because I think it is important to focus on a clean performance, session after session, and not to keep thoughts about the championship somewhere in my head,” the official quoted the Frenchman Formula 1 website as saying.

“One or two weeks ago everyone was talking about McLaren, before that about Mercedes, even before that about Red Bull. We have to distance ourselves from that, we don’t talk about something like that because we know there is still a long way to go”.

“If anything will work in the end, it will be more because of the performances every day, than the approach to the championship as a whole. We know very well that next week will be a completely different challenge. We will start from scratch and in a week in Mexico you will have what could be a completely different result.”

“I want people (on the team) to talk more about taking risks and for them to be able to take risks. I think that’s the mentality and approach we have. Of course we need to improve, we’ve done things to get better at it’s important to keep that attitude.”

Even if you get a good result, that’s not the end of the story. And coming back on Monday with a long list of things to improve on when you win is a good thought.

The stage in Mexico will take place from October 25 to 27. In ISPORT you will find the schedule of all sessions of the racing weekend in Mexico City.
