Maksimov officially became the new head coach of Vorskla

The coach signed a contract until the summer of 2026

Ex-mentor of Dnepr-1 Yuri Maksimov officially became the new head coach Vorskla.

The coach’s contract runs until June 30, 2026. The coaching staff included Sergei Revut and Nikolai Ishchenko. Ex-mentor Sergei Dolgansky remains on the team and will be responsible for training goalkeepers.

Maksimov held the first meeting with the players. The mentor’s task is to compete for places in the standings, giving the right to represent the country in European competitions.

Earlier, Vorskla announced the dismissal of Dolgansky from the post of head coach. The mentor headed the Poltava club with the prefix “I. O.” in January of this year. In the summer, the coach signed a full-fledged contract.

Maksimov headed Vorskla from 2019 to 2022. The coach’s last place of work was Dnepr-1. Since the summer, the mentor has been unemployed and rejected several offers from Azerbaijan.

Vorskla is in 12th place in the UPL with 9 points. In the next match, the Poltava team will play Veres on October 27.
