Figure skating coach Dmitry Khromin explained who was skating with his student Nikolai Ugojaev.
In early October, Ugozhaev became the laureate of the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial in St. Petersburg. The figure skater scored 303.45 points in total from two programs.
– This is what we do [хореограф Николай] Moroshkin. Kolya is a very smart guy, he understands everything quickly. During training, he usually does amazing things on the skate. If the dancers were watching us, they would definitely appreciate it. There, the ribs are all in place, and he poses the arches differently – which is quite unusual for a singles skater. As a result, the speed picks up nicely. During competitions, we are not always able to concentrate on skating work.
So far, he doesn’t have enough experience to skate under the stage lights, in the spotlight. But we will see how things develop further,” Khromin told RT.
