President of the Russian Diving Federation (RFD) Stanislav Druzhinin said that internal problems of regional federations, if necessary, should be resolved through appeals to the governing bodies of the RFPV, and not through attempts to start a “quarrel in the sandbox”.
On Monday, October 21, a meeting of members of the Moscow Region Diving Federation was held to elect a new leader. During the meeting, the participants decided to dismiss the president of the federation, Eduard Feoktistov, due to loss of confidence. Feoktistov and the Russian Diving Federation do not recognize this meeting as legitimate and emphasize that it took place at the initiative of the head coach of the Russian national team, Svetlana Moiseeva.
“Unfortunately, the attempt to change the head of the Diving Federation of the Moscow region through the efforts of people close to the media is gradually becoming a major sports sensation. A growing number of people and organizations are getting involved in public debate. They resorted to public insults, value judgments, manipulation of facts and calls to coaches and parents of our young athletes. Do the creators of this quarrel understand what consequences will be for the development of diving in the Moscow region and, in general, for the reputation of our sport? One gets the impression that the initiators of the struggle for the post of head of a regional public body are motivated by selfish interests or a desire to settle personal scores. It is for this reason that respected people in the world of sports, fans of our sport and veterans are deliberately misled, openly deceived and manipulated.
In this regard, I took the unprecedented decision to publish internal documents of the regional public physical education and sports organization “Diving Federation of the Moscow Region”.
Of course, a legal assessment of what is happening and legal conclusions will follow from the department of the Russian Ministry of Justice for the Moscow region and law enforcement agencies, where all the necessary documents and materials have been sent .
I repeat that all internal issues of regional federations must be resolved in a civilized manner and in accordance with accepted norms and rules; if necessary, you can always contact the presidium or the executive committee of the Russian Diving Federation, and not start this shameful “quarrel” in the sandbox,” Druzhinin wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to documents published on the official website of the RFPV, “in accordance with the charter of the organization, as well as the legislation of the Russian Federation, as of October 25, 2024, the President of the Diving Federation of the region Moscow is Eduard Feoktistov. .”
