The winless streak of Vitaly Ponomarev’s team in the UPL increased to six matches
The opening match of the 11th round took place in Lviv UPL — Rukh shared points with Chernomorets (1:1).
The Lviv team opened the scoring in the 53rd minute of the game – Alexey Sych made a great cross from the right flank, and Ilya Kvasnitsa calmly sent the ball into the net of Artur Rudko’s goal. Chernomorets came back in the 83rd minute – Bogdan Butko served, and Denis Yanakov headed into Rukh’s goal.
Thus, Rukh’s winless streak in the UPL extended to six matches – the last victory of Vitaly Ponomarev’s team dates back to August 30, when Ingulets was defeated in Lviv (5:0). Odessa, in turn, have not lost for four rounds in a row.
In the UPL standings, Rukh rose to 6th position – the Lviv team now has 14 points. Chernomorets has 12 points – Alexander Babich’s team is in 10th place.
In the next round of the UPL, Chernomorets will host Shakhtar at home on November 2, and Rukh will play an away match against Krivbass on November 4. Before this, Vitaly Ponomarev’s team will have a chance to take revenge on the Carpathians for their defeat in the last round of the championship – on October 29, both Lviv clubs will meet in the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.
