Barcelona progress in negotiations with Pedri over a new contract

The Blaugrana consider the young performer to be a key part of their project

Negotiations between Barcelona and midfielder Pedri contract renewals are ongoing.

Another meeting took place, the parties experience “positive emotions.” The club considers the 21-year-old a key part of their project.

In September, it became known that the Catalans’ sporting director, Deco, held a meeting with the player’s agents, at which the details of the future agreement were discussed. It was later reported that Barcelona are making every effort to extend the contracts of Pedri, his colleague in the role of Gavi, and defender Ronald Araujo during the current season – all three have existing agreements that expire in 2026.

Pedri, who turns 22 in November, has made 13 appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Barcelona leads the Spanish championship, three points ahead of Real Madrid. Today there will be a meeting between two giants – El Clasico in the capital of Spain will begin at 22:00 Kyiv time. It is highly likely that the Blancos goal will be defended by Ukrainian Andrey Lunin – main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was not included in Real’s squad due to injury.
